| Notes: This play focuses on the true story of an American girl who was killed when she offered herself up as a human shield against an Israeli bulldozer that was demolishing homes in a Palestinian village. I took an original photo of the actress and superimposed the image of the bulldozer over her eye. The goal was to create an unsettling image that conveyed the story of the play in an abstract way. I wanted the viewer to be drawn first to her eye, which is set off from the rest of the photo by the contrasting color temperature and saturation, then direct their gaze downward withfall the relevant text. |
